Rain it Pours!!

§§§

Rain it pours and its dancing in my Soul now,
Rain it pours and it drowns away my thoughts,
Rain it pours and everything goes silent,
Rain it pours and its dancing in my soul.

Hi Guys,

Even though the winter has come in Game of Thrones, in Bangalore its raining crazy. And when i say crazy i mean it has a mind of its own. It will be hot in the afternoons like its still summer and so you decide to go out without an umbrella and bam!! it starts raining. And i am a kind of person who doesn't like to carry things in my hand except my cellphone neither do i like carrying huge totes n purses. I am the small bodycross kinda girl. And this always lands me taking shelter beneath a tree or under the roof of a shop. The only good thing about Bangalore rains is that they don't last for hours. So i guess it kinda balances it out.

I have a love hate relationship with Rain. I am born, bought up in Goa and there it pours cats and dogs. Its like someone opened the shower tap and forgot to close it and went for vacation. Even when it stops you can fill the dampness in the air. I always feel sleepy in such weather. I remember my dad literally pulling me out of bed and dragging me to school. I mean who wants to leave their comfy bed and go to school, half wet cause you are not a ninja in opening the umbrella as you get out of the car. And then keep those wet umbrellas near your leg cause obviously we cannot have 60 open umbrellas in a classroom. The only good memory i have of rainy days was when it would rain so heavily that the nearby stream would be flooded and school will be closed or when my mom would make hot onion pakodas in evening or having cycle races with raindrops trying to catch me. Personally i find the cracking of black sky with sudden lightning is one of the most beautiful thing witness.

Anyways things have changed and i don't have to go to school anymore. 'Yayyy!!' and i am starting to enjoy getting wet in rain a little bit. Its kinda calms you down and makes you feel free like no matter how screwed up your life is at this moment its all getting washed out with the water pouring on your skin. But then i certainly prefer to be tucked in rather than getting wet :P BTW, I watched 4 movies this week :- Dil Dhadkne Do, It Follows and 2 evergreen oldies Hum Apke Hai Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hai. I would say DDD wasn't as good as i had expected it to be. It follows is a good movie if you are the kind to discuss about movies and their hidden meanings and stuff. And i also caught up on ep 9 of Game of Thrones and i have to say its been one of the best episodes of this season. Actually the first 'WTH' moment of this season. I didn't go out much after i tried once and got drenched. So i have got my rainy outfit for you guys. I wore a flannel knotted at my waist with a black maxi skirt with slits.

Until next time, go get yourself wet, Cheers !!

OOTN: Boho Way

Hi Guys....

How you all been? Its literally been months since i last posted and i am so sorry for that. But i just have not been feeling opening up mood lately. Its been one of those days when you don't wanna talk to anyone and be lost in your solitude. Just that mine has extended for days (read months) and i am still kinda in the same zone. And even though this has totally put me out of social circle it has given me lots of time to catch up on my reading :D Recently i got the " A song of ice and fire" book set and i am 2 books down. Looking at the size of them i guess it will be couple of months more before i finish it off.

Anyways on one of my more social days few days back i went to watch Piku with my family. I have to say it has been one of the best movies of this year. Not much drama or action just simple, happy movie. Its the kinda movie that makes you smile :-) And you can watch it 'n' number of times. Deepika and Amitabh were just awesome. And i just love Deepika's sense of dressing in it. Ethnic with a hint of boho. Coming to the outfit i wore when i went to see the movie, it was boho sporty. These days i been just loving the boho style. Laid-back with lots of colors and fun prints, messy hair, chunky jewellery.

Summer OOTD

“Another summer day has come and gone away,
In Paris and Rome, but I wanna go home,
Maybe surrounded by a million people i still feel all alone
i wanna go home, let me go home….”

Today has been one of those days when a song gets stuck in your head not because its annoyingly catchy or really amazing sort of way. Sometimes its just cause of the memories attached with it. I feel music is the second best method of time travel after photographs. One tune, that one line from the lyric is all it takes to transport you back. Oh sweet music!! For last couple of days as the temperatures are hitting new highs here in Bangalore, i am kinda starting to get nostalgic. Summer has always been equivalent to riding bikes, climbing trees, fishing, playing cards, mini picnics, beach, family trips, getting tanned :D and much more. Oh how i wish we could get like 1-2 months summer holidays at our jobs the way we got in school. Just to recharge ourselves, soak in the vitamin D. I mean with all the time spent in AC rooms and in our houses i really miss me some sunshine. I am feeling like Olaf the snowman from Frozen right now. “Summmerrrrr” (* *)

Anyways earlier this week me and my friend, who was visiting from Goa, went for a brunch at Tim Tai. It was so hot that we almost cancelled going out. But then we were really hungry and i didn't wanna eat the pg food so we braved the sun and ventured out. Its a Chinese, thai food place and i would have to say its perfect for quiet lunch. Not much hungama or chitter chatter. The ambience is okay okay. The food was delicious. We had their specialities and i would have to say it was 4/5. Sadly i couldn't click any pictures of the place. Was feeling kinda awkward to take our my phone and start clicking. And once the food came, eating was the first priority. Though we did do a little photo session before leaving and i have pictures of what i initially wore.

Dear Me: A letter to a 17 year old Me!!

Dear Me;

Hi... here is little something for you to hear.

1)Love yourself. Be you and don't go into a shell. Its okay to be weird and different. You will eventually meet people who will accept you for who you are.
2)Wearing unfitted sleeveless t shirts with studded bands in your hands and black nail polish makes you look like a joker not a rockstar. But still it will be something to laugh about later.
3)Embrace your thick, wavy, wild hair you are going to miss them a lot, soon :(
4)Its okay to get an "F" and no use hiding it from mom and dad, they are going to find out anyways and they will love you just the same :D
5)Listen to your mom, she is always right.
6)Being one of the naughty kids ain't going to get you a gold star.Respect your teachers even if you don't like them, they mean well.
7) Enjoy all those family trips, take lots of pictures..you will miss out on them soon.
8)"Kewl" is not cool and being considered "kewl" is not the high point of life..what others think of you doesn't matter and this is going to scar up your english for forever.
9)Eat!! A lot. You will soon start craving for your mom's food.
10)Don't throw away your milk in flowerpot, mom is going to find out soon after her favourite plant dies of it :( and you will be in lot of trouble :P
11)Don't let self doubt creep in,it will kill many of your dreams.
12)No matter what anyone says boards do matter don't wait for last 1 week to study for it, you are going to regret it.
13)And even though boards matter its okay to score less, you will be in the best college and have an amazing 4 years of your life.
14)Dont trust everyone who smiles.
15)Read whatever you can get your hands on, you are going to miss it later when you don't get time to read.
16)Spend time with your family and less time on your phone and computer. You will miss them later.
17)Be Happy, relax, enjoy, experiment, have fun but in your limits. This is just a phase it will pass.

The Best.Lipstick Ever!!!

Hi Guys.....

Recently i came across a quote by Gwyneth Paltrow " Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a Sensational RED LIPSTICK. " And i was feeling it. The first part was right but the second part was bang on for me. Though i am not much of a make up person but lipsticks have always held a special soft spot in my heart. I still remember my first ever experience with any kind of make up was with my mom's  'Red Lipstick'. Once she would go to work i would sneak into her make up drawer and shamelessly apply 3-4 coats of red lipstick. And looking back i can imagine my lips looking like a letter box but at that time it made me feel pretty. And the love affair has continued till date.

So when i went to buy my first make up product few years back it was a Red Lipstick. Personally i feel Red Lipstick is like a magic hat. It can make you feel powerful, confident, strong, sexy, feminine. I have used a couple of red lipsticks over the years but for me the BEST RED LIPSTICK or just the best lipstick ever will have to be MAC's RUBY WOO. It has this perfect beautiful red color that it neither flashy red nor vampire red its little bit brick red little bit pinkish red little bit reddish red. Its awesome. There are times when you just wake up late and you dont have time for the daily shenanigans, a little dab of Ruby Woo and i am good to go. It just brightens up my face and makes me look fresh. Its a matte finish so if you have dry lips then you will need to prep it up with a little lip balm before applying it. The pigmentation is amazing. Usually one coat does it for me. And the staying power?? I can go through my evening snack, dinner and in between munch-ins and still that baby stays when i reach home after 12 hrs. And one of the best things i have noticed about it is that even though i feel like its been made just for me. my friend who is 3-4 shades lighter than me feels its made for her. It suits anyone. Even my mom loves it. And behold ladies so do the boys :-P on you i mean. The only con i can think for it will be the price. Currently its 1490 rps i think which is kind of steep. But i feel your totally worth it;-) If you ever want to own a Mac this has to be it.

Life is too short. Make every day a Red Lipstick Day ;) Cheers!!
