Haze away

3 years. I can't believe its been 3 years in Bangalore. Time does move so fast. So after 3 years i am saying bye bye to Bangalore. OMG! I never thought i would be leaving Bangalore. The place is amazing. Anyways as my last week in Bangalore started i decided to explore lots of places i didn't do in last 3 years. And let me tell you there were a lot. And one of those places is a pub. Bangalore is supposed to have some of the best pubs in the country or so i have heard. It was one of the things in my "to-do list" before i die :P. Personally i don't like going to pubs because
a)I don't drink
b)The music is too loud for two people to have covers without screaming themselves hoarse.
But then i did go just for the reason that it gave me a chance to dress up after a long time. Since i have sent most my stuff away to the new place i just put up some last minute layering. Bangalore is getting cold lemme tell ya.

DIY: Ripped Denim Jeans

Hi Guys,

Wassup? The Sale season is officially ON!! And boy i am going crazy. They have some pretty great deals at Lifestyle, Forever 21, Mango and Westside.Though this time i have instilled some self control in myself. Buying only the stuff i really need rather than just because its very cheap. Lets see for how long i can keep this on though. One of things i have been looking for are these knee ripped black jeans. I have seen so many  celebrities adorn this look. Its been ages actually i been looking for them. But either i never find my size or they are not the way i want them to be. I do find some with lots of rips but i already have that in blue and i practically live my weekends in them. But they are hell expensive and i think its stupid spending so much money on something thats supposed to look rugged and old. So i thought instead of buying why not DIY-ing it.

Its really simple and takes less than 5 minutes. All you need is an old pair of black jeans ( mine are from Forever 21 and i had got them for less than 600 bucks) , a piece of chalk to mark the area to be cut ( i am using a white eyeliner cause i couldn't find chalk :P ) , a pair of scissors and a foot scrapper (this optional). So lets get into it

Step 1:- Wear your jeans for one last time, go crazy in them. Once they are like your second skin take the chalk and make a line wear you want the rips. I made mine on the knee cause thats the look i was going for.

Step 2:- Pinch the fabric on the line and make a hole with your scissor and cut along the marked line.

Step 3:- Turn the jeans inside out and using a scrapper give the rip a rugged look, pull out some thread. Even if you don't do it eventually after a few washes it will achieve that look.

And Voila you are done. Now you have got your own pair of ripped denims and that too for more than half the price. And you can also do this for your denim shorts.

Hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. Cheers :)

Little Trip Back Home

Hi Guys,

How you all been? Last week i had been home again. Home is one place you can never get enough of. And these days i been missing it even more i don't know why. Maybe three years is a long time to be away. Moving out was one of the biggest decisions of my life. And i can say it has been an amazing journey from dependent girl to an independent woman. Living in a big city all by myself was like a dream come true. And it has its plus points i can say. Waking up whenever you want, having pizzas 7 days in a row or just staying out till late at night. I am a free bird and living alone was like getting out of the cage into the wild where no one can tame you. Sadly with time its kind of faded away. Honestly speaking i miss being pampered and taken care of and also all the scoldings i would get for being lazy. Bangalore is great its just that it doesn't feel like home.

Anyways like i said last week i had a long weekend as it was US Independence day holidays. God i love US holidays, you always get them in a row such that you can a long weekend. So after work i hopped onto the next flight and i was home in an hour. It was the most peaceful weekend i had in a long time. Being with some people can just make everything feel so right. We had a nice celebration for my dad and cousins birthday. Watched a movie, had ourselves little barbecue, went to the beach and yea my mom made my favourites dishes. And in return i cooked as well. I made french onion soup for mom and dad. It wasn't amazing but edible :P And now i am back to Bangalore. And its 2 am and i am really hungry but theres nothing to eat. Why can't they have midnight pizza delivery i don't understand when we more than half the population awake after 12.

Anyways i have attached some of my outfits from back home. Hope you guys like it.

OOTN: Boho Way

Hi Guys....

How you all been? Its literally been months since i last posted and i am so sorry for that. But i just have not been feeling opening up mood lately. Its been one of those days when you don't wanna talk to anyone and be lost in your solitude. Just that mine has extended for days (read months) and i am still kinda in the same zone. And even though this has totally put me out of social circle it has given me lots of time to catch up on my reading :D Recently i got the " A song of ice and fire" book set and i am 2 books down. Looking at the size of them i guess it will be couple of months more before i finish it off.

Anyways on one of my more social days few days back i went to watch Piku with my family. I have to say it has been one of the best movies of this year. Not much drama or action just simple, happy movie. Its the kinda movie that makes you smile :-) And you can watch it 'n' number of times. Deepika and Amitabh were just awesome. And i just love Deepika's sense of dressing in it. Ethnic with a hint of boho. Coming to the outfit i wore when i went to see the movie, it was boho sporty. These days i been just loving the boho style. Laid-back with lots of colors and fun prints, messy hair, chunky jewellery.

Summer OOTD

“Another summer day has come and gone away,
In Paris and Rome, but I wanna go home,
Maybe surrounded by a million people i still feel all alone
i wanna go home, let me go home….”

Today has been one of those days when a song gets stuck in your head not because its annoyingly catchy or really amazing sort of way. Sometimes its just cause of the memories attached with it. I feel music is the second best method of time travel after photographs. One tune, that one line from the lyric is all it takes to transport you back. Oh sweet music!! For last couple of days as the temperatures are hitting new highs here in Bangalore, i am kinda starting to get nostalgic. Summer has always been equivalent to riding bikes, climbing trees, fishing, playing cards, mini picnics, beach, family trips, getting tanned :D and much more. Oh how i wish we could get like 1-2 months summer holidays at our jobs the way we got in school. Just to recharge ourselves, soak in the vitamin D. I mean with all the time spent in AC rooms and in our houses i really miss me some sunshine. I am feeling like Olaf the snowman from Frozen right now. “Summmerrrrr” (* *)

Anyways earlier this week me and my friend, who was visiting from Goa, went for a brunch at Tim Tai. It was so hot that we almost cancelled going out. But then we were really hungry and i didn't wanna eat the pg food so we braved the sun and ventured out. Its a Chinese, thai food place and i would have to say its perfect for quiet lunch. Not much hungama or chitter chatter. The ambience is okay okay. The food was delicious. We had their specialities and i would have to say it was 4/5. Sadly i couldn't click any pictures of the place. Was feeling kinda awkward to take our my phone and start clicking. And once the food came, eating was the first priority. Though we did do a little photo session before leaving and i have pictures of what i initially wore.

Welcome 2015 and OOTN

Hi Guys...

Happy New Year. 2014 is officially over and i can finally give a sigh of relief. I would have to say it was a hard one. More like a typical Bollywood movie romance, heartbreak, drama, action, fights, comedy; it had everything. Lots of lessons learnt. Few days back i couldn't wait for this year to end. This year was like perfect example of Murphy's Law.Everything that could go wrong did. But as i sat on the roof watching the crackers burst in the sky in million colors it stuck me that life is like these crackers. It has to burn to burst out into something amazing. So no matter how hard it gets, it will get over.

                                                  (Pic Credit:- Damodar Bhat  @Goa)

I think the most important thing i learnt this year was relationships be it with your parents or siblings or friends or music or anything is what will help you make it through. A lot of people come and go. There also a lot of 'almost's' out there. But then sometimes you get lucky and you find the 'one in a million' kind. The ones who will be always there when you need them no matter what. Who will accept you for who you are, who will go mental with you so you don't feel odd one out,who laugh and cry with you, whom you give a part of heart. These are the keepers and i feel that's the best 2014 gave me finding few of these 'one in a million' kind. Love ya... ;-)

Coming to what i wore for new year's eve. I decided to keep it simple. I wore a black maxi skirt from Max and paired it with a muscle tee from Vero moda. And since its winter i added a black lace shrug i got from Sarojini. To finish it off we have a satchel bag from Forever 21 (my current fav), watch and My spiked wrist belt and some colorful flip flops from westside.

As for 2015 lets bring the house down... Cheers :D

OOTD: Winter is Coming

Hii Guys,

We are nearly to the end of 2014 and the winter has hit Bangalore. The afternoons are perfect warm and the evenings are heaven. Bangalore wins the Best City on the weather alone. Honestly nothing can beat Bangalore weather all year round. Even though the weather is chilly it doesn't make you run for all the layers and sweaters. Yet. :P Its like a good pani puri, a little sweet a little sour dissolving in your mouth to form the perfect taste.

A Quickie to Kanyakumari

Hiii Guys,

Its really a bummer when you sit out to write like with topic and everything in your mind and bamm !! you hit a writer's block but just about how to start it. I have typed and backspaced the opening line  like literally 5 times now.Actually i face this a lot i dont know why.  Anyhoo its been a hellish couple of weeks at work. I feel i have never worked this hard before in my life. And December is supposed to be holiday month for god's sake. The only bright side has been i took couple of trips in between which has made it a little bearable. My mom always told me when work get crazy take a little vacation, it will be like a recharge.

So it was one my best friend Rakhee's birthday's and we decided to go on a small road trip of our own. Come into picture "Kanyakumari". 2 girls going to southernest tip of Indian land on their own, it was a "growing up" kinda experience. Made us feel like responsible adults :D We left  early from work on friday and took a sleeper bus from Bangalore to Kanyakumari. We actually celebrated her birthday in the bus. It was awesome. Early morning we reached a village which is close to Knayakumari they made us change the bus. As luck would have it we were the only people in that group going to Kanyakumari. And at that point it was a little scary. I mean they could kidnap us and no one would even know. The view was pretty awesome with green fields and windmills everywhere though i didnt enjoy it much cause i was still thinking about the kidnapping part. Anyways we reached safe and sound.

The best thing was our hotel was just next to the beach. Since we both from Goa beach is like a home to us and it called us and we ran. And i will not lie my first impression as i stepped on to Kanyakumari beach was "OKAY.. this is Kanyakumari" certainly not what i expected. But when i put my feet into the indian ocean it was a "wow" moment. I am at the last bit of land of india that there is(leaving Andaman) and the ocean is giving me a little pedicure while the breeze from far far lands is give my hair a blow dry while the sun rays soak me in Vitamin D. It was the calmest i had felt in weeks.

(The Swami Vivekanad Memorial)

                                                (Stepping into the Indian Ocean)

We did the local sightseeing. The confluence of Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal amazing. So was the boat ride to Swami Vivekanand Memorial located in the sea. Other places to see will be the Ransom Church, Wax Museum, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, Hanuman Mandir, Kanyakumari Temple. We even woke up at 5 in the morning to see the sunrise. Now i have stayed in Chennai for 6 months and well i am not big fan of their food but the food here was amazing all the places we had. I had one of the best steaks of my life ever. It was the kind of food that makes you happy and content and makes your eyes close as you slip into a dreamy world.  I will go to that place again just to have that dinner.

(5 am in the morning. Where are you Sun???)

(POseyfy -- looks a little bit like status of liberty without the book and flame )

(yeah we had to take Selfies)

                                                              (Rocking it with MJ)

We even did a little bit of shopping. Actually a lot then we expected. I got really amazing sarees for my mom, inexpensive and my mom just loved it. She was like why didnt you get more. Next time mom ;-) They had pretty cool designs and colors for the prices they were selling. The place we went overboard was a shop where they sold everything at 30 bucks. We picked up the big Shells you use for honking and Shell paper weights for all our friends and family. I even picked up shell wind-chimes and the regular stuff like accessories, games, cups, it was crazy.

And though it was just quick 2 days, i guess that just what we needed.

Byeee...
